Cellulite Research - Does Anti-Cellulite Cream Really Work?

Anti-cellulite cream generally contains antioxidants and other specialized ingredients. In one double-blind randomized trial of an unnamed anti cellulite cream, 75 percent of study participants realized significant reductions in cellulite over the 4-week period of the study. Another study published in the journal, “The Annals of Pharmacotherapy” evaluated the effectiveness of anti-cellulite cream containing aminophylline, a common ingredient in such products. This scientific study involved women weighing 20 percent over their ideal weight who participated in both diet and exercise programs for a period of 4 weeks while applying cream to their thighs. On one thigh, anti-cellulite cream was used while a placebo was applied to the other thigh. At the end of the trial period, the thighs on which the anti-cellulite product had been applied had experienced a statistically significant reduction in girth. No side effects were noted in this study, showing that the use of such creams is not only effective but safe as well.
Cellulite is a troubling and common issue. While exercise, proper weight maintenance and a healthy diet can all help in the effort to reduce cellulite, these are not enough for many people.
